Epstein Survivors Urge Trump to Support Transparency Bill in Emotional Capitol Press Conference
In a powerful and poignant bipartisan press event on Capitol Hill today, eight women who survived sexual abuse by Jeffrey Epstein urged former President Donald Trump to support legislation requiring the release of all federal files related to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The women stood alongside Representatives Thomas Massie (R‑KY), Ro Khanna (D‑CA), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R‑GA) to support the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which would compel the Department of Justice to release sealed case files. The bill is just two Republican signatures shy of reaching the House floor via a discharge petition.
Anouska De Georgiou, who testified at Maxwell’s trial, spoke directly to Trump:
“President Trump, you have so much influence and power in this situation. Please use that influence and power to help us.”
Haley Robson, a Republican and survivor, rebuked those who’ve called Epstein’s crimes a political hoax:
“You just want to explode inside. This is not a hoax. We are real human beings. This is real trauma.”
Chauntae Davies, who has long spoken out about her abuse, recalled Epstein’s connections:
“Jeffrey and Ghislaine were always very boastful about their friends… And his biggest brag forever was that he was very good friends with Donald Trump.”
Marina Lacerda, previously anonymous as “Minor Victim 1,” came forward publicly for the first time:
“There are many pieces of my story that I can’t remember… It could help me put the pieces of my own life back together.”
The group called on all members of Congress—and especially Trump, who has dismissed the effort as “a Democratic hoax”—to support transparency.
“If this was a hoax, I wouldn’t be standing here in front of you today. This is about survivors reclaiming their voice, and about the American people reclaiming the truth,” said Davies.
Lawmakers reiterated that public release of these documents is essential to exposing the full extent of Epstein’s network.
There were no incidents at the press conference, but a large presence of authority, which, of course, is par for DC these days
